Purple or orange sunflower seeds come from yellow sunflowers that encounter a genetic mutation. This causes the seeds to become abnormally colored. These seeds are 100% safe for humans and pets to eat! It's not uncommon to encounter but the seeds are rarely sold! We find them to be incredibly unique and have a limited amount of these sunflower seed heads!
